Leaving school and joining Westpac (and later Suncorp) Jon was promoted through the ranks of banking learning all skills from ledgers to teller eventually specialising in agribusiness banking as a Portfolio Banker responsible for over $100 million in lending connections.

Jon has also been personally involved in property development having undertaken several his own unit developments and subdivisions within Toowoomba, Dalby, Chinchilla and Miles. He has been very successful dealing with all parties associated with engineering, civil construction, Council approval and inspections, financing and sales. He has owned his owned civil construction business that built and developed these projects as a means of value adding to his development project operations.
